Full architectural and structural redesign, construction, and interior fit-out of a two-storey residential building with a penthouse.
BASE Group was appointed to review the design and construct a two-storey residential apartment building with a penthouse level. After assessing the original plans, our team recognised opportunities to enhance the internal layout — expanding the kitchen, living areas, and circulation zones including the staircase to the roof and penthouse — before completing a full architectural and structural redesign that improved spatial efficiency, safety, and comfort.
BASE Group was then commissioned to design the complete interior fit-out, covering the kitchen, living areas, and penthouse interior, in a contemporary, warm architectural language combining natural timber finishes, stone surfaces, and layered lighting. On the construction side, the building was built with stringent protection against dampness: anti-termite treatment across the footprint, three layers of bitumen emulsion on columns, and a vapour barrier beneath the ground-bearing slab.
